CO2 TO FUEL: Speaking of new types of energy, it seems even carbon dioxide could one day produce a zero-carbon e-diesel fuel. Scientists in Canada, funded by Bill Gates, have created a system that does what trees have long been doing, sucking CO2 out of the atmosphere. But it does so in places such as icy plains and deserts, where it can be stored, and then combines the carbon with hydrogen that has been split from water.
